Week 46 My Self-Love Journey

Each day a thousand treasures come to me with every passing moment.” From Lesson 315 in A Course in Miracles.

With a desire to practice more gratitude in my life, I’ve been taking time each day to share my gratitude. Nearly two weeks in, I still had this feeling that something was missing. When I saw this quote from ACIM over the weekend, it inspired a new intention for me.

I realized that what’s been missing is the practice of noticing what is around me at any time during the day and feeling grateful for all the “treasures that come to me with every passing moment.”

Today, I was walking Lucy, my sweet, adorable little cocker spaniel for whom I am so very grateful. While we were walking, I became aware of all the treasures. It was a beautiful day filled with sunshine, not too hot, not too cold. Along our little journey I heard birds and cars, dogs barking and someone playing the piano. I saw leaves turning yellow with the change of the season. I saw purple bougainvillea, yellow lemons, and the bright blue sky. Today, during my walk with Lucy, I really took notice of all the treasures and I was grateful.

Earlier, while I was walking Sullivan The Great, our Great Dane – Black Lab mix, I had the pleasure of watching him run happily in the field behind our house. His joy always brings me joy and today, there was also gratitude.

Later in the day, I found myself checking in again as Juan and I worked out at the gym. I checked in to the feeling of gratitude for what my body is capable of doing. I was grateful for Juan. I recognize how fortunate I am to have my own personal trainer who is also my partner in life, in work and in play.

And still later in the day, as I prepared our dinner, I once again found myself checking in to notice the treasures in that process. Fresh carrots, celery, potatoes, chicken, a nice sharp knife, all for making homemade chicken soup that was greatly appreciated by Juan.

Today, I wasn’t sure what I was going to write. I tried to write last night, but I was missing inspiration. I tried to write early this morning, but still the thoughts did not come. By making the decision to notice all the treasures, not only did I DISCOVER the feeling that comes with gratitude, but I was also rewarded with inspiration to share this experience with you.

Finally, for today, I am grateful for inspiration. AND I am grateful for each of you who have taken time to read my words. I hope what you have read today will inspire you to notice all the treasures that come to you with every passing moment.

With Love & Gratitude,
